Ready to sell? Here are some tips!

Look at that curb appeal! This home sold in under 3 days!

As a realtor, I often see homes that are not properly prepared for sale, which can result in a longer time on the market and a lower selling price. Therefore, I recommend that sellers take the time to properly prepare their home for sale in order to attract potential buyers and secure the best possible price.

Here are some tips for sellers to prepare their home for sale:

  1. Declutter and clean: A cluttered and dirty home can be a major turn-off for potential buyers. Therefore, it’s important to declutter and deep clean your home before putting it on the market. Remove any unnecessary items, tidy up surfaces, and make sure every room is sparkling clean.
  2. Neutralize decor: While you may love your bold and colorful decor, potential buyers may not share your taste. Therefore, it’s important to neutralize your decor by removing personal items and sticking to neutral colors for walls and furnishings. This will make it easier for potential buyers to envision themselves living in the home.
  3. Make necessary repairs: Small repairs can make a big difference in the eyes of potential buyers. Fix any leaks, replace any broken fixtures, replace burned out light bulbs and touch up any scuffs or dents on walls. And don’t forget the ceiling fans!
  4. Improve curb appeal: First impressions are important, and the exterior of your home is the first thing potential buyers will see. Make sure your home has great curb appeal by tidying up the yard, planting some flowers, and power wash  if necessary.
  5. Stage the home: Staging can help potential buyers envision themselves living in the home. This can be as simple as arranging furniture in a welcoming way to show off the size of the rooms and adding some tasteful decor. Often what you already have in your home can be re-arranged to show off the potential!

By following these tips, sellers can ensure that their home is ready to impress potential buyers and secure a quick sale at the best possible price.
